Registered Nurse (RN) – Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)

If you are passionate about providing compassionate care to survivors of sexual assault, join us as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). In this role, you will deliver trauma-informed care while collecting forensic evidence to support legal investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive forensic examinations, including physical assessments and evidence collection such as swabs, photographs, and documentation of injuries.
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault throughout their treatment process.
  • Administer preventive treatments for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and emergency contraception as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement officials and legal teams by maintaining the chain of custody for forensic evidence.
  • Testify as an expert witness in court when required to provide medical evidence related to cases of assault or abuse.
  • Educate survivors on available resources for mental health support and recovery services.

Work Environment:

  • The role is based in hospital emergency departments, forensic exam centers, or community health clinics specializing in trauma care.
  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed in sensitive situations.
